The Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah Alaoui, indicated on Tuesday in Skhirat that the project to generalize social protection is an excellent lever for reducing the size of the informal sector.
Speaking at the opening of an international symposium under the theme “Social protection: a reigning site”, Nadia Fettah Alaoui said that this project of capital importance for Morocco, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI , is an ambitious program aimed at integrating the informal sector in order to promote social justice and ensure economic balance.
To succeed in this project, it would be necessary to show imagination and innovation to develop new mechanisms and allow the informal sector to benefit from quality social services, and thus contribute to the national solidarity effort, by generating sources of funding that the system needs for its sustainability, she said.
The Minister also noted that despite the unfavorable international context, the government is determined to maintain all its commitments regarding the implementation of this structural reform, thanks to the remarkable resilience of the macroeconomic framework, noting that the generalization of protection is a real opportunity to support household purchasing power and achieve social justice.
For his part, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance, in charge of the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa, affirmed that this symposium is of great importance insofar as it focuses on one of the most important in our country which is the generalization of social protection.
Fouzi Lekjaa, also president of the Association of members of the General Inspectorate of Finance (AMIF), also stressed that this Royal project requires a strategic vision and technical and management skills for its implementation, noting that this project constitutes a real revolution that crowns a modernization process in which several achievements have been made.
Similarly, the minister highlighted the importance of this project in the revitalization and development of Moroccan society, affirming that it is in line with the strategic choices of King Mohammed VI in terms of development and modernization. of our country, which take into account harmony and complementarity between the economic and social dimensions.
Under the High Patronage of the King, this international symposium organized by the AMIF and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, is intended to be a space for open debate, reflection, exchanges and cross-examinations aimed at formulating practical proposals that can contribute to the successful implementation of social protection reform in Morocco. Several questions call out and deserve to be raised, and call for an objective analysis and appropriate responses, which are commensurate with the challenges posed.
As such, the success of this complex and historical project in several respects must integrate societal paradigms by defining the appropriate level of solidarity and the degree of citizen support which make it possible to ensure the sustainability of the system and by developing a policy of health prevention.
