The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, underlined, Tuesday in Skhirat, that the Royal project of generalization of social protection constitutes a State project which requires a global mobilization.
Speaking at the opening of an international symposium under the theme “Social protection: a building site of reign”, the Head of Government affirmed that the success of this important project depends on the support and contribution of all stakeholders. and thus requires a global mobilization, in accordance with the High Guidelines of HM King Mohammed VI.
In this sense, Aziz Akhannouch said that this project requires the support of the social partners, employers, professional chambers as well as local authorities in order to guarantee the implementation of this Royal project, and give impetus to the registration of the categories concerned and broadening the base of members to self-employed workers.
He also recalled that compulsory health insurance (AMO) is an insurance system based on solidarity, noting in this regard that mutual aid and solidarity are necessary elements to build social protection.
Aziz Akhannouch, who underlined the commitment of the government in the implementation of this Royal project, specified that 22 decrees were adopted giving access to the registration of nearly 11 million Moroccan men and women, non-salaried workers.
Thus, he indicated that the first step consisted in having registers of the categories concerned, welcoming in this sense the work accomplished by the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) which played an important role of communication through 8,000 points contacts.
In addition, the Head of Government assured that the achievements of the “RAMED” medical assistance scheme will be preserved, specifying that the beneficiaries of this scheme will switch to the new social protection system.
He also highlighted the need to carry out a reform of the health system and further strengthen the supply of care in order to encourage citizens to adhere to this new system of social protection.
This requires, according to him, an improvement in the quality of the care offer, the upgrading of the health system through digitalization, and the increase in the number of health professionals by 2025.
Organized under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI, the international symposium on social protection is intended to be a space for open debate, reflection, exchanges and cross-examinations aimed at formulating practical proposals that can contribute to the success of the implementation implementation of social protection reform in Morocco.
