SMIT launches the first calls for tenders for the 2023/26 roadmap

As soon as the 2023/26 roadmap for the Tourism sector was signed in March 2023, the Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering (SMIT) very quickly set to work for its implementation in all Regions.

The new roadmap came with an approach based on the tourist experience and this, moving from a logic of destination construction to a logic of construction of sectors, recalls the SMIT.

And to specify that to do this, priority thematic tourist sectors will be identified to build the offer, namely: Ocean Waves sectors for water sports, Nature Trekking and Hiking for green tourism, City Break for short urban stays, Beach & Sun for the seaside offer, Desert & Oasis Adventure for desert getaways, Business Tourism for professional events, Cultural Tours for immersive experiences and internal tourism. There are also cross-cutting sectors, with high added value for Morocco, around the promotion of Moroccan intangible heritage and sustainable development. To strengthen this offer.

The calls for tenders, launched last week, aim to recruit firms that will support SMIT in the creation of thematic impulse laboratories whose mission is to set up action plans to achieve the objectives by sector and by Region.

The said impulse laboratories will have to lead to the elaboration of the performance contracts of the sectors and the regional application contracts within 03 months.

Through its agility and speed in execution, SMIT once again demonstrates its ability to operationalize the State’s strategic programs.
