The world ranking “The Times Higher Education” counts among the 1200 best universities, chosen in 99 countries, six Moroccan higher education establishments.
The Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah University of Fez (ranked 801-1000) and the Ibn Tofail University of Kénitra (1001-1200) are thus retained in the THE ranking, while the universities of Hassan I of Settat, Hassan II of Casablanca, Cadi Ayad of Marrakech and Mohammed VI of Rabat were ranked in 1.201-th place, said a statement from the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research.
With this ranking, Morocco occupies the third position at the African level and fourth at the level of the Arab world.
In addition, the number of Moroccan universities appearing in this world ranking has doubled in recent years, from three universities in 2018 to six universities in 2022.
This ranking is considered one of the best at the international level, further indicates the ministry, noting that it takes into account specific scientific criteria such as teaching, scientific research, knowledge transfer or even international openness. .
