Morocco and Belgium signed, on Monday in Rabat, the Administrative Arrangement relating to the application of the Social Security Convention, signed between the two parties on February 18, 2014
Initialed by the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Ait Taleb, and the Belgian Ambassador to Morocco, Véronique Petit, this agreement is part of the strengthening of bilateral cooperation relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of Belgium in terms of social security, the ministry said in a press release.
This Arrangement relates to the provisions for the application of the Convention on social security which will enter into force on 1 June 2022 and will replace the Convention signed in 1968.
The new rights provided by this convention are the widening of the personal scope of application to any person subject to the legislation of one of the contracting States as well as to the members of their family and their survivors and the right to health care for pensioners who return to reside in their country of origin, notes the press release.
They also concern the right to family allowances for pensioners and the aggregation of insurance periods completed in a third country for the opening of the right to benefits, adds the same source.
