A total of 19 new generation program contracts for the development and modernization of agricultural production sectors for a total amount of 110.698 billion dirhams (MMDH), over 10 years, including a State contribution of 42.477 billion dirhams in the framework of the Agricultural Development Fund (FDA), were signed Thursday in Meknes, between the State and the profession.
On the sidelines of the International Agricultural Show in Morocco (SIAM), these program contracts, which have been signed with the main sectors of plant and animal production, are based on three principles, namely the implementation of the different axes of the strategy Generation Green especially in relation to the human element, the conditioning of the granting of aid to professional organizations to the achievement of the objectives contracted and the commitment of professional organizations to restructure to improve their governance and their level of national and regional representativeness .
These program contracts have been drawn up in consultation with the interprofessional federations concerned to set the objectives and development indicators for each sector by 2030.
They concern 4 animal sectors, namely the dairy sector, the red meat sector, the poultry sector and the beekeeping sector, as well as 15 plant sectors, namely olive growing, arboriculture, citrus fruit, date palm, cereals and legumes, sugar crops, oilseeds, market gardening, the argan tree, seeds, the organic sector, red fruits, saffron, rice and perfumed roses.
The implementation of the commitments of these program contracts aims to improve the profitability of agricultural production, enhance production and modernize marketing and distribution methods.
They also aim to improve research, training and working conditions for farmers and workers, as well as support for the organization and structuring of professional organizations to create a new generation of effective professional agricultural organizations.
The signing of these program contracts is part of the implementation of the “Green Generation” strategy, which is based on three dimensions, namely the territorial dimension, the production sector dimension and the thematic dimension.
Engaging Moroccan agriculture in a new strategic phase of development, this strategy consolidates the results of the “Green Morocco Plan” strategy, which has given the various agricultural sectors a significant boost, in particular thanks to the support of the State and the strengthening partnership with professionals.
