Sevilla FC is already active for the next transfer window. In the sights of Monchi, Romain Saiss who is currently shining in the Premier League, in the ranks of Wolverhampton.
Romain Saiss will end his contract next June, and has not renewed with Wolves for the moment, which suggests that he would like to try a new adventure elsewhere, especially in La Liga where he is desired.
And among the possible candidates, Sevilla FC has positioned itself for the captain of the Moroccan selection. Saiss, 31, is still part of the team coached by Bruno Lage, who relies heavily on him to the point of nicknaming him the “Maldini of Morocco”.
Indeed, after six years at the British club, the performance of the Moroccan player has been superlative, being a true pillar of the defense of Wolves.
This season he has started in all the league games he has been available for and has only been substituted in two of them. In total, he has accumulated 20 games and almost 2,000 minutes during the 2020/2021 season.
The Atlas Lion was in Betis’ sights in 2016 when he was still a member of Angers and before signing for Wolverhampton his name was again linked with the Verdiblanco team when he was looking for centre-backs last summer to replace Mandi.
Romain Saiss could therefore join his compatriots Yassine Bounou, Youssef En-Nesyri or even Munir El Haddadi. But so far, there has been no contact between the parties involved.
