The Director General of the DGST-DGSN Pole, Abdellatif Hammouchi made a working visit to the United States of America on June 13 and 14, at the head of a security delegation made up of directors and executives of the central services of the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
A press release from the pole indicates that this visit reflects the solid cooperation ties uniting the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States of America in the various security fields, in particular in the field of the fight against terrorism and transnational organized crime, and intervenes within the framework of a context marked by the strengthening and development of the security partnership between the Moroccan security services and the American federal agencies in charge of intelligence and law enforcement.
During this visit, Hammouchi held working sessions and had discussions with Mrs Avril Hainse, Director of American National Intelligence, William Burns, Director of the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) and Christopher Wray, Director of the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation ), which focused on the various security threats and new dangers at the regional and international levels, as well as on the mechanisms and means likely to deal with these risks according to a common and collective vision capable of guaranteeing security and international peace.
He also discussed with US intelligence and security officials the various security challenges and threats posed by terrorist groups and organized crime networks in many parts of the world, including the Sahel, Sahara, Middle East and Europe.
“Virtual operations” linked to the fight against the terrorist threat and organized crime, particularly in their cybernetic form and their transnational links, were also discussed.
This visit was also marked by the exchange of expertise and experience and the sharing of information relating to the fight against terrorist organizations and organized crime networks.
It was also agreed on the importance of coordinating joint efforts and developing monitoring and control mechanisms, in order to ensure a firm response to the various risks and growing threats on an international scale.
This visit, it is underlined, bears witness to the importance of bilateral security cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States of America, as main partners in international efforts to ensure security and stability.
It also reflects the constant commitment of the services of the DGSN and the DGST in international efforts aimed at neutralizing the risks and threats to regional and international security.
