Samir Goudar of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) was unanimously elected on Saturday in Marrakech, president of the Council of the Marrakech-Safi region.
Sole candidate for this post, Samir Goudar, who thus succeeds Mr. Ahmed Akhchichen (PAM), obtained all the votes of the members of this elected body whose number of seats stands at 75. During this meeting, enhanced by the presence in particular of the wali of the Marrakech-Safi region, governor of the prefecture of Marrakech, Mr. Karim Kassi-Lahlou, it was also proceeded to the election of the 09 vice-presidents, the secretary of the Regional Council as well than his deputy.
In a special address at the end of his election, Samir Goudar, member of the PAM political bureau and director general of the electoral campaign of this political party for the September 8 elections, said he was very proud of the confidence placed in him by the members of the Council, expressing his wish to be up to the expectations of the populations of this region of Morocco.
While reviewing the main development projects that the Regional Council will endeavor to set up, he noted that he opts for the continuity of the projects started by the Council under the mandate of his predecessor, Ahmed Akhchichen, by focusing on updating the Regional Development Program (PDR) and integrating the recommendations of the General Report on the New Development Model (NMD).
In this context, Mr. Goudar expressed the wish to achieve during his mandate, a rate of drinking water supply and connection to the electricity network of 100% in the Marrakech-Safi region, and to accelerate the pace of implementation. of the program to open up the rural world.
The Council of the Marrakech-Safi region has 75 seats in total distributed as follows: prefecture of Marrakech (14 seats), province of Safi (11 seats), province of Al Haouz and province of El Kelaâ des Sraghna (10 seats each ), the province of Chichaoua (08 seats), the province of Rehamna (07 seats) and the province of Youssoufia (06 seats).
As a reminder, the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), the National Rally of Independents (RNI) and the Istiqlal Party (PI) won the majority of seats at the level of the Council of the Marrakech-Safi region, during the elections. regional.
The three political parties thus won 50 of the 75 seats to be filled at the level of this elected body, with the PAM in the lead (18 seats), followed by the RNI with 17 seats and the PI with 15 seats.
The Constitutional Union (UC) and the Popular Movement (MP) each won 07 seats, followed by the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP) with 05 seats and the Party for Progress and Socialism (PPS) with 04 seats.
For their part, the Democratic and Social Movement (MDS) and the Justice and Development Party (PJD) each won one seat.
