Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said peace talks with Ukraine would continue, while warning there was a “real” danger of a Third World War.
“Goodwill has its limits. And if it is not reciprocated, it does not contribute to the negotiation process”, said Lavrov, quoted by Russian news agencies. “But we continue to conduct negotiations with the team delegated by (Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky), and these contacts will continue”he assured.
“The danger is serious, it is real, you cannot underestimate it”, Lavrov told the Interfax news agency. Regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, he said he was confident that everything will of course end with the signing of an agreement.
“But the parameters of this agreement will be defined by the state of the fighting that will have taken place at the time the agreement becomes a reality”he added.
This very close to Putin accused the Ukrainian president of “pretending” to negotiate. “He’s a good actor (…), if you look carefully and read carefully what he says, you will find a thousand contradictions “said the head of Russian diplomacy.
