The international and local community of Rabat meet on June 4th for the Peace Run Rabat, a solidarity race for peace, development and inclusion, organized by the Embassies of Switzerland and Denmark.
Initiated under the high patronage of King Mohamed VI, and in partnership with the Royal Moroccan Athletics Federation (FRMA), this 5th edition of the Race for Peace, a sporting event of international scope, aims to promote the values of peace, unity and friendship and is an opportunity to meet and share the international and local community of Rabat, through the practice of sport, say the organizers.
They recall in this regard that the UN has recognized that through the values it conveys, such as tolerance and respect, sport is a tool for development and peace.
The Peace Run, which will take place on June 4 at 8:30 a.m., will offer a carefully chosen 9.5 kilometer route to discover the emblematic sites of the Moroccan capital while running for peace.
This 5th edition will be a unique opportunity to celebrate cultural diversity and strengthen ties between communities. By participating in this event, runners will express their commitment to a better world, where peace and harmony are at the heart of our common concerns.
For Switzerland, this event echoes its participation as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the period 2023-2024, and further underlines Switzerland’s unwavering commitment to world peace.
For Denmark, this event also marks Danish Constitution Day, June 5, a day when all Danes celebrate democracy, freedom of speech and freedom of assembly.
