King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, kindly granted His Grace, on the occasion of Eid Al Adha, to 979 people, some of whom are in detention and others at liberty, sentenced by various courts in the Kingdom, said a statement from the Ministry of Justice.

“On the occasion of Eid Al Adha this year 1443 H – 2022 G, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God perpetuate His glory, kindly granted His Grace to a group of people sentenced by different courts of the Kingdom . These people number 979 and are as follows:
* The beneficiaries of the Royal Pardon who are in detention are 834 detainees, broken down as follows:
– Grace on the remainder of the sentence of imprisonment or reclusion for the benefit of 09 detainees.
– Remission of the sentence of imprisonment or reclusion for the benefit of 818 detainees.
– Commutation of life sentence to time sentence for the benefit of 07 detainees.
* The beneficiaries of the Royal Pardon who are free are 134 people, broken down as follows:
– Pardon on the prison sentence or its remainder for the benefit of 21 people.
– Pardon on the prison sentence with maintenance of the fine for the benefit of 07 people.
– Pardon on the fine sentence for the benefit of 104 people.
– Pardon on the prison sentence and fine for the benefit of 02 people.
On this glorious occasion, His Majesty the King, may God preserve him, has kindly granted His Grace to prisoners convicted in cases of extremism and terrorism who have obtained Royal approval after having officially expressed their attachment to the constants and to the sacredness of the Nation and national institutions, revised their ideological orientations, rejected extremism and terrorism. There are 11 people, distributed as follows:
– Pardon on the remainder of the prison sentence for the benefit of 03 detainees.
– Grace on the remainder of the prison sentence and the fine sentence for the benefit of 05 detainees.
– Remission of the sentence of imprisonment or reclusion for the benefit of 02 detainees.
– Commutation of the life sentence into a time sentence for the benefit of one (01) detainee.
May God keep His Majesty the King, source of clemency and mercy, perpetuate His glory and preserve His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and all members of the Royal family”.
