National coach Walid Regragui said he was “satisfied” with the performance of the Atlas Lions, despite the draw against Peru in a friendly match on Tuesday night at the Civitas Metropolitano stadium in Madrid.
”Despite the draw, I am satisfied with the players, their performance and above all their intensity throughout the match and more particularly during the first half”, said Regragui, during the press conference which followed this match, the second of the Atlas Lions after that of last Saturday against Brazil in Tangier.
According to him, “the spirit is positive”. ”Despite the changes, we kept the same intensity and the same rhythm, which is a very good element,” said the national coach, deploring the ”lack of efficiency”.
”Friendly matches are important to improve offensive efficiency and try other systems of play. We are working in this direction,” noted Regragui, welcoming the national team’s defensive solidity.
”The players who have returned have given the best and offer the team other alternatives in view of the next deadlines”, he argued.
The Moroccan football team drew (0-0) against its Peruvian counterpart.
Walid Regragui’s Men dominated the game and had several scoring opportunities, but without materializing their superiority.
This is the second friendly outing for Walid Regragui’s proteges after their exceptional run at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The Moroccan selection won in a friendly last Saturday in Tangier against Brazil with the score of 2-1.
