Essaouira is hosting the Regional Crafts Fair from July 26 to August 6. The fair is an occasion intended to promote traditional trades that have been long conducted by skilled master artisans.
The fair is organized by the Regional Chamber of Crafts of Marrakech-Safi in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Crafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, and the Municipal Council of the City, under the theme “Authentic trades: Art and Creation.”
The Marrakech-Safi Regional Chamber of Crafts’ yearly program, which focuses on the marketing and promotion of handicraft products and items, included 56 exhibitors made up of artisans and craftswomen for this year’s fair.
The handicraft products on display at this fair, which spans a 1,000 m2 area, include cedar wood pieces, leather goods, weaving and tapestry, minerals, herbal products, ceramics, stone, cosmetics, art and decorative things, as well as culinary products.
The local craft fair is open to both professional cooperatives and individual artisans, this fair offers a number of events, including training and awareness programs, for the benefit of participants and artisans.
