Regional and municipal elections in Spain: Net decline of the socialists

Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s Socialists suffered a sharp setback in Sunday’s municipal elections in Spain, with the (right-wing) People’s Party winning the most votes, according to official results with 90% of the vote.

In addition, the Socialists lost several of the regions they held, including the Valencian Community (east), according to Spanish media.
