Recommissioning of the Tahaddart and Aîn Béni Mathar combined cycle power plants

The Kingdom of Morocco announces the recommissioning of its combined cycle power plants in Tahaddart and Aîn Béni Mathar using LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) imported from the international market.

A press release from the National Office for Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) and the National Office for Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM) indicates on Tuesday that the supply of these two power stations with natural gas is ensured by the Maghreb-Europe gas pipeline via the Morocco-Spain gas interconnection operating in Reverse Flow mode.

The Kingdom of Morocco therefore ensures its supply of natural gas by concluding contracts for the purchase of LNG on the international market and by using the gas infrastructures of Spanish operators and the Maghreb-Europe Gas Pipeline, specifies the same source.
