British fashion designer, Vivienne Westwood, died Thursday at the age of 81, her eponymous brand announced.
A non-conformist, the fashion designer was one of the great influencers of the punk movement. Throughout her career, she has defied fashion codes to create her own rules and her unique signature.
The fashion house, announced the disappearance of its founder on social networks added that “the world needs people like Vivienne to change for the better”.
Vivienne Westwood’s fashion career began in the 1970s with the punk explosion, when her radical approach to street style revolutionized fashion. The Westwood signature has become synonymous with style, exuberance and attitude even though it has changed direction from year to year.
