In the closing hours of the current summer transfer window, a recent report suggests that Real Madrid is preparing a bid for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) with the intention of acquiring forward Kylian Mbappé.
The 24-year-old’s contract with PSG is set to expire in the summer of 2024, and he reportedly plans to move to Real Madrid on a free transfer thereafter.
However, German newspaper Bild revealed that Real Madrid is not willing to wait until next summer and is planning to submit a EUR120 million offer for Mbappé within the final hours of the current transfer market.
The offer is expected to be presented around August 29 or 30.
Real Madrid has reportedly been working on this strategy in secrecy for several weeks, keeping club president Florentino Pérez’s intentions undisclosed to increase pressure on PSG.
On the other side, PSG is attempting to renew Mbappé’s contract as he expresses his intent to stay until the end of the current season.
