Public authorities noted on Tuesday that Amnesty International’s blatant partiality in favor of enemies of territorial integrity undermines its credibility in the defense of human rights.
The public authorities deplore the fact that this organization is thus illustrated by a breach of the principles which it is the first to promote, and as a result, it thus chooses a policy of double standards.
The same source indicates that this NGO persists in its hostility towards Morocco and its territorial integrity and its achievements in the field of human rights by publishing a press release on May 27 in which it calls for a “ investigating allegations that five female activists (ZB, EH, FH, O.Kh and NB) in the southern provinces were subjected to violent physical and sexual assaults, following their participation in peaceful demonstrations in support of the activist in the southern provinces of S.Kh, during separate incidents that occurred on April 15 and 16 in Boujdour in the Moroccan Sahara, without the authorities opening an investigation to prosecute the culprits”.
While deploring the fact that this organization has not taken the trouble to verify and cross-check the information relating to this case and others provided and published in detail by the National Human Rights Council ( CNDH), the public authorities note that this NGO has again shown that it pays little heed to the principles of impartiality, objectivity and professionalism in the register of allegations concerning possible violations, whereas it is it -even which is at the origin of the establishment of the aforesaid principles.
Contrary to the erroneous information contained in the organization’s press release concerning the arrest of the so-called ZB, the same source specifies that it is in fact a routine procedure of the security services, indicating that a clandestine transport vehicle was arrested on April 16 with this person on board who refused to present his national identity card, which required his transfer to the police station in Boujdour, to verify his identity before being discharged under normal conditions at 3:40 p.m., but five hours later, exactly at 9:00 p.m., she went to the provincial hospital for personal health concerns.
Regarding Amensty International’s allegations claiming that the so-called S.Kh and her family have been under house arrest since November 2021, the same source wishes to make it known that she leads a normal life as evidenced by her stay for three days in Laâyoune for recover his new passport before leaving the national territory freely, without any constraint, contrary to the allegations of this NGO which claims that the said person is under siege at residence.
If this is the case, then how did she travel freely to collect her passport and leave the national territory on the scheduled date?, we wonder from the same source.
By publishing this press release, Amnesty International is once again discrediting itself, disregarding the principle of impartiality and exploiting for political purposes and in a blatant way the human rights map by rallying to a party in a conflict. regional council submitted to the Security Council, which takes away all credibility from his mention of the human rights situation in the southern provinces, the same source points out.
As for the allegations of a so-called violation of the right to demonstrate and an attack on the four women cited in the NGO’s press release, they are unfounded, indicates the same source, specifying that the competent public authorities in Laâyoune manage, in compliance with the law, the holding of demonstrations and their dispersal without the use of force, just as it is in force in other cities of the Kingdom and in the world and what is more, under the gaze of the public.
And to conclude that the public authorities, in relation to the content of the Amnesty International press release and the allegations disseminated on social networks, recall that the King’s Attorney General at the Laâyoune Court of Appeal spontaneously took the initiative to to open an investigation, noting that this approach was not taken into account by the said organization, thus denigrating the importance of judicial investigations while it continues in its press releases to call for their opening almost everywhere in the world.
