Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) formalized on Wednesday the end of coach Christophe Galtier’s contract, a year before its term.
“At the end of the 2022-2023 financial year, Paris Saint-Germain and Christophe Galtier have decided to end their first-team coaching contract,” the Parisian club announced in a press release, taking into account underline “his professionalism and his commitment”, which allowed the red and blue to win a historic eleventh French Championship title as well as a Champions Trophy”.
Arriving at PSG on July 5, 2022, Christophe Galtier (56) started by winning the Champions Trophy with his team on July 31, 2022, beating FC Nantes (4-0).
A week later, by winning 5-0 at Clermont, the capital club took the lead in Ligue 1 from the first day, never to leave it again during the season, a first in the history of the France championship.
PSG won its 11th Ligue 1 title under his command, becoming the most sacred club in the history of the French Championship.
The announcement of his successor is expected on Wednesday.
