The Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Mohammed Sadiki, chaired on Saturday evening in Agadir, the award ceremony for the sixth edition of the Halieutis Fair simultaneously with the second edition of the Fisheries industry innovation trophies, in the presence of the Director General of the National Fisheries Office (ONP) and president of the Halieutis Fair association, Amina Figuigui.
The participants who received awards at the 6th edition of the International Halieutis Exhibition are: Ait Melloul Electromechanical, the Moroccan Association of Student Engineers in Fisheries, the Chamber of Maritime Fisheries of the Central Atlantic, the Chamber of Maritime Fisheries of Atlantique, the Chamber of Maritime Fisheries of the South Atlantic, the Chamber of Maritime Fisheries of the Mediterranean, the Comptoir Naval and the Moroccan Confederation of Artisanal Fisheries.
It is also the Moroccan Confederation of Coastal Fishing, the National Confederation of Coastal Fishing in Morocco, the National Confederation of Artisanal Fishing in Morocco, the Regional Council Dakhla Oued Eddahab, the Regional Council Guelmim Oued Noun, the Regional Council Souss Massa, the Souss Massa Aquaculture Cooperative, the Federation of Chambers of Maritime Fisheries, the Pavilion of Spain, the Pavilion of Mauritania, the company ATLANTIC HARVEST, the company DAMSA, the company Ecowatt and the company Fundilusa.
It is also a question of the company GROUPE BICHA, the company IDEM/BTM/AFRICA/PECHNOR, the company MERVEILLES DES MERS, the company PALINOX, the company SOREMAR, the company TRANSMEL OVERSEAS, the company UNIMER, the company YLARA HOLDING and the Ibn Zohr University.
The 2nd edition of the Fisheries Industries Innovation Trophies launched by the Department of Maritime Fisheries of the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, in partnership with the National Federation of Processing and Valorization of Fishery Products (FENIP) and the National Union of Fish Canning Industries (UNICOP), is a competition that aims to promote innovation among companies operating in the processing and enhancement of seafood products and stimulate their creativity in order to promote their technical and commercial development.
This competition is open to all innovations relating to fishery products, the manufacturing process and packaging. It is aimed at all companies established in Morocco, approved on the health plan, specialized in the activities of treatment and/or transformation of fishery products in the various valorization activities.
The prizes were awarded to companies that participated in this 2nd edition and which were selected by a jury for innovative products.
Thus, the first prize was awarded to the company CUMAREX for its new product of canned octopus in olive oil presented in transparent boxes, the second prize was won by the company LGMC INDUSTRIES for its product of “Charcuterie of fish (sardines) in the form of gut” (Plain, spicy, with olives, smoked…) and the third prize was awarded to the company SCANDIMAR for its product of “Seafood stuffing for pastilla and briouates”.
Innovation certificates were awarded to three other companies for their products deemed to be innovative and with high potential.
These are the WIRIZ INDUSTRIE Company for its frozen cooked octopus tentacles product, the KING PELAGIQUE Company for its ready-meal product and the DAKMAR II Company for its “Choco meat balls” product made from cuttlefish.
