Cristiano Ronaldo’s Manchester United lost this Saturday against Arsenal (1-3) on behalf of the 34th day of the Premier League. The Red Devils are moving further and further away from 4th place in the championship, the famous sesame for the Champions League.
Nuno Tavares opened the scoring for the Londoners from the start of the match (3rd), before Bukayo Saka confirmed the superiority of the Gunners half an hour into the game from the penalty spot. Two minutes later, Cristiano Ronaldo, warmly applauded by the public at the Emirates Stadium after the death of his newborn, managed to close the gap (34th).
But the Mancunians gave in again on a powerful strike from Granit Xhaka in the 70th minute of the game. With six points behind fourth place and a game played more, Ralf Rangnick’s players have almost no chance of redoing their delay by the end of the season. Arsenal, now 4th in the standings, has 60 points and three lengths ahead of Tottenham (5th) who still have a match played at the end of the afternoon against Brentford.
