The overall traffic of the ports managed by the National Ports Agency (ANP) stood at 6.61 million tonnes (MT) in January 2023, down 12.9% compared to the same month of the year last.
This traffic is divided between import with 4.25 MT, down 14.1%, export with 2.11 MT (-10.8%), import cabotage with 180,103 T (-12.9% ) and export cabotage with 64,444 T (-1.6%), specifies the ANP in a note on traffic for the month of January.
By port, the distribution shows a domination of the ports of Jorf Lasfar and Casablanca with respective shares of 32% and 31.2%, followed by Safi (14.1%), Agadir (9.1%), Mohammedia (6.3%), Nador (4.3%) and Laâyoune (2.5%).
With regard to the packaging method, the ANP indicates that dry bulk constituted 62% of overall traffic at the end of January 2022, ahead of liquid bulk (21.5%), containers (13.9%) and Ro-Ro ( 1.2%).
