PJD MP raises concerns over companies using severed Morocco maps

A member of the parliamentary group of the Justice and Development Party, Naima El Fathawi,  raised concerns about international companies partnering with Morocco and presenting distorted maps of the Moroccan Sahara.

In a written question addressed to the head of the government, El Fathawi emphasized that the Kingdom has a clear stance on how it manages its foreign relations, encompassing political, economic, and commercial dimensions, among others.

The MP reminded of King Mohammed VI’s statement in his August 20, 2022, speech, in which he emphasized that “the issue of the Sahara is the lens through which Morocco looks at the world. It is the clear and simple criterion by which the sincerity of friendships and the effectiveness of partnerships are measured.”

El Fathawi’s inquiry to the head of the government also called for disclosure of the measures the government plans to take to ensure that these companies respect the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.
