The Minister of Justice and Secretary General of the Authenticity and Modernity (PAM) party has decided to respond to comments made against him by the former head of government, Abdelilah Benkirane.
The former head of the PJDist government, whose party swung into the opposition, made remarks targeting the current Minister of Justice in the midst of the commemoration of International Labor Day.
Benkirane accused the minister, whose profession is a lawyer, of being the “lawyer of corruption”. The former head of government verbally attacked the minister who intends to introduce judicial reforms, particularly in the decriminalization of relations outside marriage or the principle of equality in inheritance between men and women.
According to a source close to the Keeper of the Seals, the latter assured those around him that he “will not interact or respond to Benkirane’s statements”, considering that these accusations “bring nothing new”.
The same source consulted by MoroccoLatestNews, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed that the minister will only respond to those who speak about it in the two communications he presented on the subject, expressing his regret for the behavior of the secretary General of the PJD.
The WFP source claimed that these statements by Benkirane are part of a campaign and relentless efforts by the PJD to enter into conflict with the PAM in order to “come back to the forefront” after suffering an electoral setback. in the last elections of 2019.
The PAM is aware of the objectives of the members of the PJD at the origin of the excesses of its leader, declared the source within the Ouahbi party, and “we are not fooled” he added.
