ONP: The value of marketed fish products up 19% in February

The National Fisheries Office (ONP), indicated that marketed coastal and artisanal fishing products recorded, in terms of value, an increase of 19% to nearly 2.03 billion dirhams (MMDH) last February. .

In its recent report on coastal and artisanal fishing statistics in Morocco, the ONP also notes that the weight of these landings stood at 115,029 tonnes (T), down 21% compared to February 2021.

By species, landings of cephalopods, crustaceans and whitefish increased, in value, by 36%, 35% and 6%, respectively. On the other hand, the values ​​of algae, shellfish and pelagic fish fell by 74%, 45% and 17% respectively. Per port, a total of 1,447 T of coastal and artisanal fishing products were landed in Mediterranean port entries at the end of February 2022, down 21%.

In terms of value, these ports posted a decline of 29% to more than 12.40 million dirhams (MDH).

Regarding the ports located on the Atlantic, they posted a drop of 29% to 75,504 T in February 2022, while their value fell by 16% to more than 279.96 MDH.
