The Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) has just signed an important agreement with the airline airBaltic to launch a direct Riga-Agadir flight.
Through this partnership, the Latvian low-cost company will launch the Riga-Agadir line from next winter season, with a weekly flight every Saturday, indicates the Office in a press release, specifying that the link between the capital of Latvia and the seaside resort will enter into force on November 4, 2023.
“Northern European markets are strategic for a destination like Agadir. Other air connections are being negotiated with the aim of securing tourist flows for the next winter season,” said Adel El Fakir, Director General of the ONMT, quoted in the press release.
Agadir thus becomes AirBaltic’s second destination in Morocco, after Marrakech. Flights between Marrakech and Riga are scheduled on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
This agreement is in addition to the one signed recently between the ONMT and Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) which provides for direct flights linking Agadir to the cities of Stockholm and Copenhagen in Denmark.
The ONMT thus continues the activation of the air lever, via the basin of the Baltic countries and at the same time gives a real boost to the destination Agadir to secure a maximum of capacities for next winter.
The Office is thus in line with its 2026 “Light in action” action plan.
