Morocco United States
Between the United States and Morocco, these are relations as old as the history of the United States, since the kingdom of Morocco was the first country to recognize the United States as an independent state.
Faced with this special relationship which is part of the partnership and friendship between the two countries, the United States in turn recognized the sovereignty of Morocco over its Sahara, taking an important step in the settlement final of this regional conflict which has lasted too long and which has long suffered from the status quo and the lack of courage in decision-making.
The United States adopted a new map of the Kingdom of Morocco which includes the Moroccan Sahara and recognized that the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco is a serious, credible and realistic solution capable of bringing peace to the region and putting definitively end to this artificial regional conflict.
This year, the two countries resumed the maneuvers of the African Lion after their cancellation in 2020 because of the coronavirus, and also celebrated the 200 years of the Moroccan-American friendship and the 15 years of the signing of the Agreement. of free trade, which is, to date, the only agreement of its kind signed by the United States with an African country.
The partnership between Morocco and the United States is multidimensional and above all solid, serving common interests and placing peace, security and prosperity in the region among its priorities. In this sense, Washington, of all the administrations combined, have always praised the central and capital role of Morocco in the promotion of peace and stability in the Middle East in the face of security challenges and have always helped Morocco militarily to protect its borders. and its ribs.
