Novak Djokovic won his seventh Wimbledon tournament on Sunday by winning the final against Australian Nick Kyrgios (40th in the world) in 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (7/3), winning thus his 21st Grand Slam title.
“I no longer have the words to say what this tournament and this trophy mean to me. He has always been the most important in my heart. It was this tournament that made me want to play”commented Djokovic.
The 35-year-old Serb, winner of the last four editions of the Major on grass, is one length away from the record of 22 Grand Slam trophies held by Spaniard Rafael Nadal. He now has one more than Roger Federer (20th in the world).
