Nine teams through to knockout stages, Juve eliminated

This Tuesday were played the first matches of the 5th day of the group stage. Nine teams have validated their ticket for the round of 16, pending the 8 matches on Wednesday.

The big surprise of the day came from Lisbon where Benfica snatched qualification by beating Juventus (4-3), de facto eliminated, after a spectacular match.

With 11 points, Benfica (2nd) are level with Group H leaders Paris Saint-Germain going into the final matchday next week.

The Turinese (3rd), double winners of the C1 and seven times finalists, will try to win third place, a ticket which would grant them access to the 16th finals of the Europa League.

The 9 qualified teams are:

Group A: Naples (ITA)

Group B: Club Brugge (BEL)

Group C: Bayern Munich (GER)

Group E: chelsea (ENG)

Group F: real Madrid (SP)

Group G: Manchester City (ENG), Borussia Dortmund (GER)

Group H: Paris SG (ENG), Benfica (ORP)

The 6th and final day of this group stage is scheduled for November 1 and 2.

The top two from each of the eight groups qualify for the round of 16 in February 2023, which will mark the start of the knockout phase.

The first of the group will have the advantage of receiving in the return match.

The third will qualify for the knockout stages of the Europa League.
