Neymar’s soap opera at FC Barcelona is relaunched. According to the Catalan press, the Brazilian international would still want to return to Spain, to his former club.
Neymar’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in June 2022. Despite the footballer having publicly admitted that he wants to stay at the Parc des Princes, he has reportedly decided to take a step closer to FC Barcelona to negotiate a potential return.
Neymar is not so sure his friend Leo Messi will leave Camp Nou at the end of the season but seems optimistic to reunite with the Argentine star among the Spanish giants.
At the heart of speculation, Pini Zahavi’s recent meeting with Joan Laporta in early March. If the agent, in particular responsible for the signing of Neymar in Paris against 222 million euros in 2017, was mainly present to discuss the future of David Alaba, he was also able to discuss that of the Brazilian star with the new leader of Barça.
Even though David Alaba was Laporta’s main target, the PSG striker was also on the table. The current Barça president has never ruled out signing Neymar during his election campaign.
It looks like Messi’s future will be key. The Argentine, after Laporta’s arrival and the improvement of the squad, could end up signing a new deal at Barca.
