New entrepreneurial meeting from June 6 to 8 in Casablanca

With the aim of further strengthening their economic and investment cooperation, Morocco and Spain are organizing, from June 6 to 8, 2023 in Casablanca, an entrepreneurial meeting which will bring together dozens of companies from different economic sectors.

This three-day Spain-Morocco Entrepreneurial Meeting represents an opportunity for the two countries to promote investments and discuss possible partnerships. Indeed, trade and investment are considered as two key factors of economic cooperation between Rabat and Madrid.

On this occasion, a delegation of 58 Spanish companies will travel to Casablanca on June 7 and 8 as part of this meeting with a view to prospecting local partnerships to establish or consolidate in the Kingdom of Morocco and thus contribute to the strengthening of economic relations between the two countries.

The event will take place in the presence of Mrs. Xiana Méndez, Secretary of State for Commerce of Spain and President of ICEX Trade and Investment, as well as a delegation of 58 Spanish companies looking for potential local partners allowing them to s to establish or consolidate in Moroccan territory“, says a press release from the Spanish Embassy.

It should be noted that the companies that will be part of this entrepreneurial meeting belong to various economic sectors, in particular renewable energies and water management, the environment, the industrial sector, transport infrastructure, education and service companies.

In addition, the official inauguration of the meeting will be held this Wednesday, June 7 in the presence of the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Ryad Mezzour, the Secretary of State for Commerce of Spain, Xiana Méndez, the Spanish ambassador to Morocco, Ricardo Díez-Hochleitner, and the president of the CGEM, Chakib Alj.

Several panels addressing many themes of interest to investors will be on the program for this event, including “Spain-Morocco: towards a consolidated economic partnership”; “Financing of investment in Morocco”… as well as workshops on the renewable energy sector and the environment, infrastructure, the industrial sector and education in Morocco.

Finally, June 8 will be a day entirely devoted to B2B meetings. In total, more than 130 meetings are already scheduled to promote possible collaboration agreements, indicates the same source.

It should be remembered that Spain wants to be Morocco’s leading trading partner for more than 8 years with trade that has increased by 8% annually for 10 years to climb by 20% last year.
