The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, said that the borders, closed by the Kingdom since November 29, 2021, due to the spread of the Omicron variant, must be reopened. “under conditions of safety for all”.
Asked about the question, this Monday in the House of Representatives, the Minister recalled the recent figures of the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom, which “scareful”, even if the peak seems to be in the process of being exceeded, a- he said.
“The numbers are scary. Nearly 3,000 cases today, 97 dead in this month of January which is not over and some 600 people admitted to intensive care, “said Bourita.
It is important to open the borders, but it is also important to take our conditions into consideration. And we see the countries that have opened…”, he argued, noting that “each country makes its decisions in view of the reality of its epidemiological situation”.
To conclude: “The objective is clear: Open but with security conditions for all”.
