The Moulay Youssef hospital center in Rabat opens its doors next Monday in front of patients. In the meantime, a press visit was organized this Saturday, February 26, in the presence in particular the Secretary General of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, Dr. Abdelkrim Meziane Belfkih, and the Director of Planning and Financial Resources, Abdelouahab Belmadani.
Built on an area of 31,173 m2 on four floors, the Moulay Youssef hospital center in Rabat has a litter capacity of 300 beds in addition to state-of-the-art equipment. A structure that will accommodate and deliver quality care to some 5 million people.
In details, Moulay Youssef Hospital has several units and services covering the different specialties, including a general medicine service (60 beds), a maternity service with a pediatric unit (30 beds), a pediatric surgery unit (15 beds) and a delivery (60 beds) and gynecology (15 beds) unit.
In addition, the hospital has a surgery unit with 60 beds, and includes operating blocks (9 blocks) of various specialties including general surgery, traumatology, neurology, ophthalmology, cardiovascular, an observation block after operation 15 beds and finally emergencies which has 12 beds.
With regard to the equipment available within the hospital, the medical and technical service includes a medical scanner unit (7 rooms), an MRI in addition to a state-of-the-art analysis laboratory (test, blood, immunology, autopsy ..) As well as a physiotherapy unit, a pharmacy and a sterilization room.
The emergency and intensive care department in turn has a capacity of 8 beds (emergency unit) in addition to a SAUV emergency reception room (4 beds for adults and 1 bed for children).
At the entrance to the Moulay Youssef hospital, a reception service has been set up to properly receive patients, in addition to the development of a kitchen, a room for health executives, and a mortuary. .
The budget allocated to this project amounts to 580 million dirhams, including 380 million dirhams devoted to studies and works and 200 million devoted to equipment, confides to us the Director of Planning and Financial Resources, Abdelouahab Belmadani.

Also, the official stressed that the hospital is part of the new generation of hospitals built by the Ministry of Health, in line with the royal guidelines aimed, in particular, at the generalization of medical coverage in the entire population.
