The Confederation of African Football (CAF) said on Thursday that Morocco’s hosting of the World Cup 2030 will contribute significantly to the development and growth of football in Africa, particularly amongst the African youth.
In a statement published on its website, CAF congratulates the Kingdom on the decision by the FIFA Council to endorse its bid to host this international sporting event, along with Spain and Portugal.
CAF President Patrice Motsepe, quoted in the statement, said that CAF is “excited to congratulate Morocco and its partners Portugal and Spain” on the organization of this competition.
“We are confident that the Morocco, Portugal and Spain FIFA World Cup 2030 partnership will be successful,” he stressed.
CAF added that for the second time in its history, the FIFA World Cup will be held in Africa in 2030, a special year as it will mark the centenary of the competition.
