Morocco’s earthquake recovery fund reaches MAD16.24 billion

Minister Delegate in charge of Budget Fouzi Lekjaa revealed that the allocations from the special fund for managing the aftermath of the earthquake that struck the Al Haouz region amounted to MAD16.24 billion.

This disclosure came in response to parliamentary inquiries following the general discussion of the 2024 budget law.

Lekjaa commended the way Morocco handled the earthquake’s impact, emphasizing the nation’s resilience in the face of challenging circumstances.

“Our country, in difficult circumstances, faced the aftermath of the earthquake in a manner that the world has spoken about as a model,” Lekjaa noted.
