Qualified in the round of 16 of the Futsal World Cup, for the first time in its history, Morocco will seek to climb to the top by facing Venezuela this Wednesday, September 22.
The Atlas Lions won the first qualification in their history by finishing second in Group C, after a victory against the Solomon Islands (6-0), and a draw against Thailand (1-1) and Portugal (3 -3).
Hicham Dguig’s men are ready to move up a gear against Venezuela, this Wednesday, September 22 at 6 p.m. on behalf of the round of 16. The Moroccan coach can also count on the presence of players who shone during the competition such as Youssef Jouad, Anas El Ayyane, or Bilal Bakkali.
In terms of competitiveness, the two teams are considered fairly even after their performances in the group stage. However, Morocco are still considered the best team both in terms of standings and competition. The national team held their own against Portugal with a score of 3-3. Meanwhile, Venezuela also did the same against Kazakhstan.
As a reminder, the FIFA Futsal World Cup Lithuania 2021 will be held from September 12 to October 3, 2021, with the participation of 24 nations. Initially scheduled for September 2020, the event had to be postponed by one year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
