Good news for Moroccans wishing to visit France. After being classified in the red zone, following the decree of June 7, 2021, the Kingdom regains color and changes to orange, as announced in the Official Journal of the French Republic on October 8 in a decree . A decision which follows the improvement of the epidemiological situation which could lead the country towards the ultimate category, that of green.
Morocco, accompanied by Tunisia, Colombia, Algeria and South Africa, is back in the orange zone, in which the situation is fairly stable and “In controlled proportions, without the dissemination of worrying variants”. In this sense, several conditions of access change.
Regarding movement, for people who have been vaccinated, entry into French territory is not subject to any restriction, while those who are not, must provide a compelling reason.
With regard to health control measures, proof of vaccination status and a sworn statement attesting to the absence of symptoms of coronavirus infection and contact with a confirmed case of the coronavirus must be presented for those vaccinated. .
Otherwise, it is necessary to present to the control authorities a negative PCR test dating less than 72 hours before departure or a negative antigen test less than 48 hours before departure. The departure of the first flight is taken into account in the event of a connecting trip. Children under 12 are exempt from testing.
This is not all, since Moroccan travelers wishing to go to France (which appears in the list of orange countries at risk B), must provide several documents, starting with a sworn declaration attesting to an absence of symptoms of coronavirus infection and contact with a confirmed case of covid-19.
To this is added a pledge on honor to undergo the antigen test or the biological examination which will be carried out on arrival in mainland France, a pledge on honor to self-isolate for seven days and a commitment on honor to undergo a biological virological screening (PCR) at the end of the isolation period.
It is important to specify that people vaccinated (with one of the vaccines accepted by France: Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca / Vaxzevria / Covishield, Johnson & Johnson) from Morocco, can access French territory without any restriction. In addition, the vaccinated Sinopharm, widely used in Morocco must apply the rules in force for the unvaccinated, since France does not recognize the Chinese vaccine.
To get to Morocco, travelers must respect the measures in force in the country of origin but also the conditions of entry into Morocco.
As a reminder, in the decree of June 7, 2021, Morocco was classified in the red zone, “Characterized by a particularly active circulation of the Covid-19 epidemic or by the spread of certain variants of SARS-CoV-2 presenting a risk of increased transmissibility or immune escape”. The decree of October 8, 2021 removes Morocco from this list.
