Morocco reiterates its rejection of all Israeli violations and unilateral actions

The Kingdom of Morocco, whose King Mohammed VI chairs the Al Quds Committee, reiterates its rejection of all violations and unilateral Israeli actions in the occupied Palestinian territories, said Friday in Rabat, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans residing abroad, Nasser Bourita.

“The Kingdom is following with concern the recent worrying developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, in a regional and international context marked by tensions”declared Bourita, during a joint press briefing with the Swiss Federal Councillor, Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Ignazio Cassis, on a working visit to Morocco.

“The Kingdom of Morocco reiterates its rejection of all Israeli violations and unilateral actions that fuel the situation, negatively impact appeasement efforts and hinder the conditions for reactivating the peace process in the region”he added.

More specifically, “The Kingdom denounces the recent Israeli attacks on the city of Jenin, in the West Bank, which caused several victims and injuries and expresses Morocco’s total solidarity with the brotherly Palestinian people”underlined the minister.

“The Kingdom also rejects the Israeli government’s recent decision to expand settlements in the West Bank and notes with satisfaction the international reactions rejecting the Israeli settlement policy”added Bourita.

“Morocco remains convinced that negotiations and dialogue are the only means of establishing a lasting and comprehensive peace in the region, within the framework of the two-state solution, an Israeli state and a Palestinian state, established on the borders of June 1967, with Al Quds as its capital, living side by side in peace and security”noted the minister.
