The Atlas Cubs secured their spot in the last 16 of the U17 World Cup with a 3-1 victory at Surabaya’s Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium on Thursday.
The goals of the match were scored by Anas Alaoui (29′ sp), Abdelhamid Aït Boudlal (39′), and Mohammed Hamony (64′) for Morocco, and Nabil Asyura (42′) for Indonesia.
As a reminder, in their previous outings, Said Chiba’s colts had beaten Panama (2-0), and lost to Ecuador by the same score (2-0).
In the other match in Group A, Ecuador and Panama drew 1-1, with Elkin Ruiz (25′) and Oldemar Castillo (80′) scoring for Ecuador and Panama respectively.
Morocco thus finish top of the group with 6 points, followed by Ecuador (5 points), Indonesia and Panama (2 points).
Morocco and Ecuador qualify for the next round.
