Morocco is participating in the 42nd edition of the International Trade Fair for Tourism Professionals “IFTM Top Résa” which takes place from October 5 to 8, 2021 in Paris. An edition placed under the sign of the resumption of tourist activity.
In compliance with health measures with the current context of the pandemic crisis, this edition takes place in hybrid mode, with a reduced number of participants.
The Moroccan stand established by ONMT, located at the entrance to the Tour Operators village, features Royal Air Maroc (RAM), Air Arabia Maroc, Atlas Voyages and Kenzi Hotels. Many other operators from all regions of the kingdom are also at the rendezvous.
Morocco’s participation in this event is of particular importance this year, given the impact of the health crisis on tourism activity and the fact that the French market remains the first source market for the Kingdom.
In this context, the strategy of the Moroccan National Tourist Office is to reassure French professionals and above all to maintain contact with airlines and travel advisers in order to guarantee a rapid and lasting recovery as soon as sanitary conditions allow it. .
For the Office, the mission is also to support Moroccan operators in order to attract new partners and set up new models of collaboration, and ultimately to boost order books.
“Fundamental work has been carried out by the ONMT with all of its French partners and with the key action plans that we have activated at the first signs of recovery. We are comforted in our approach by all the positive feedback received by the destination and the Moroccan operators ”, said Adel El Fakir, Director General of OMNT.
“We are delighted with the presence of the ONMT at this show. This is important to reassure both the profession and at the same time tourists. Now it’s up to us to play to fill the order books and return to pre-Covid crisis reservation levels »Says Axel Mazerolles, Managing Director of FTI Voyages.
“Olivier Kervella, Chairman and CEO of NG Travel, agrees. “We have been working with the ONMT for several months to prepare for the recovery and, moreover, our order books are at 80% of what we were doing in Morocco in 2019 (before the health crisis) over the same period. We are continuing our efforts to achieve a rate of 100% in the coming weeks. The demand in Morocco at our stand during these first days confirms this great momentum ” he adds.
The IFTM Top Resa is one of the major meetings of the tourism industry in France and in Europe. It presents a 360-degree view of travel, covering all reasons for travel: leisure, professional and events.
