Morocco eyes Brahim Díaz for 2024 Africa Cup of Nations

Renewed Spanish sports news outlet Marca reports that the Moroccan Football Federation is working hard to have Real Madrid midfielder Brahim Díaz with the Morocco national team for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations, which takes place in January and February of next year in Ivory Coast.

The 24-year-old is eligible to represent Morocco through his paternal grandparents. He has already represented Spain at the youth levels, and made one appearance for the senior team in a friendly against Lithuania in 2021.

Díaz has been ignored by Spanish coaches, which is reportedly a factor in his decision to consider playing for Morocco.

Brahim Díaz recently spent time in Tangier, Morocco, where he posed for photos with Moroccan fans. This led to speculation that he is considering playing for the Moroccan national team.
