In a statement released on October 5, 2023, Fouzi Lekjaa, Chairman of the 2030 World Cup Committee and President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), announced the FRMF’s “strong and unconditional support” for Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
Lekjaa stated that the FRMF is confident in Saudi Arabia’s ability to organize a successful tournament, given the country’s “organizational, sports, infrastructure, and tourism facilities,” as well as its “real football revolution” and the passion of the Saudi people for the sport.
He also emphasized that the FRMF will use its “distinguished relations with its partners in various football federations, and with the Confederation of African Football and the International Federation of Association Football,” to support the Saudi bid.
