The Kingdom of Morocco condemns and rejects, once again, the multiple Israeli aggressions against Jenin with their share of death and destruction, Bourita said during a joint press briefing with his Omani counterpart, Badr Bin Hamad Bin Hamoud Al- Busaidi, at the end of the 6th session of the Moroccan-Omani Joint Commission.
Bourita noted that these attacks against the Palestinian territories do not contribute in any way to the creation of an environment conducive to the opening of a dialogue and the establishment of peace in the region.
The Kingdom considers the current situation to be “very critical”, threatens the remaining hope for the establishment of peace in the Middle East and fuels extremism and violence in the region, he continued.
Bourita emphasized the centrality of the Palestinian cause, affirming that no peace will be possible in the Middle East without a fair and definitive solution to this question.
He recalled the international consensus on a settlement of the Palestinian question within the framework of the two-state solution, the State of Israel and the independent State of Palestine within the borders of June 1967 with Al-Quds-east as its capital. .
For his part, the Omani Foreign Minister stressed that the Middle East region cannot enjoy lasting stability and development without a peaceful, just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.
He also drew the attention of the international community and influential States to the importance of respect for international laws for the recovery of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, in accordance with the resolutions of the UN Security Council and the Arab peace initiative.
