The Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, indicated, Monday in Rabat, that Morocco enjoys an “unprecedented” attractiveness for foreign and national industrial capital.
In response to an oral question in the House of Representatives on “Evaluation of the Industrial Acceleration Plan” posed by the group of the National Rally of Independents, Ryad Mezzour underlined that this Plan has had significant successes, in particular through the position of Morocco on the world industrial map, emphasizing that thanks to this Plan as well as to the Industrial Recovery Plan, the Kingdom has distinguished itself at the international level.
In this sense, he said that a long-term industrial strategy is being developed, taking into account the recommendations of the New Development Model.
In response to another oral question on the promotion of national industry posed by the Authenticity and Modernity group, the Minister assured that all the ministerial departments concerned are mobilized to support national industry, indicating that a new decree on public procurement aimed at encouraging the national product is in the drafting phase.
He also pointed out that the number of projects submitted within the framework of the “Project Bank” amounted to 1,065. These projects, with a budget of 42 billion dirhams (MMDH), and an expected turnover of more than 120 billion dirhams, will allow the creation of around 250,000 direct and indirect jobs, he said. , noting that the said projects are in the implementation phase across the regions of the Kingdom.
Ryad Mezzour also reiterated the Executive’s commitment to achieve spatial justice, emphasizing in this regard the new investment charter which will take into account the principle of equity, through the reduction of the cost of investment and the institutionalization of support which will be reinforced in the least attractive regions and which experience high unemployment rates.
