Morocco double qualified at WATC 2023 in Abu Dhabi

The two national golf teams, male and female, have qualified for the “World Amateur Team Championships” (WATC) which will take place in October 2023 in Abu Dhabi, announced the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG).

This qualification was announced by the International Golf Federation (IGF) on Friday July 14, the FRMG said in a press release.

Organized every two years by the IGF, this prestigious World Amateur Team Championship includes two events, the Espirito Santo Trophy (women) and the Eisenhower Trophy (men).

Organized for the first time in 1958, the WATC brings together the 36 best teams in the world in each category.

As a reminder, the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation will organize the “World Amateur Team Championships” (WATC) in 2027, at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat, recognized worldwide for having hosted large-scale international events, in particular the Hassan II Golf Trophy and the Lalla Meryem Cup.

Morocco will be the first North African nation to receive this prestigious competition which saw the participation of very big names in this sport.
