Like the first leg, Morocco managed to beat Sudan, in the Moroccan capital, with a score of 3 goals to 0, thanks to a brace from Ryan Mmaee and a last minute goal from Imran Louza, after to have been embarrassed by the Sudanese, during this 5th day of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup.
The Sudanese selection gave the national team a hard time but it started off well, as Ryan Mmae opened the scoring in the 3rd minute thanks to a pass from Sofyan Amrabat. This is the first selection goal for the Ferencváros TC player who had missed several chances in previous meetings.

This advantage of the Moroccans prompted the Sudanese to want to respond a few minutes later, an attempt easily rejected by the number 1 goalkeeper of the selection, Yassine Bounou.
This showdown between the two African teams continued throughout the first period with attempts by both sides, especially that of Sudan, who took advantage of the lack of responsiveness of the defenders, Nayef Aguerd and Romain Saiss.
After a first period marked by the goal of Mmaee and a certain weakness in the Moroccan defense, the danger almost shook the nets of Bounou with a shot that went by.
In the 62nd minute, Morocco regains the advantage and widens the gap with a second achievement by young talent Ryan Mmaee, who has become an important element in the workforce of Halilhodzic.

Used to last-minute goals, it was Imran Louza who drove the nail in the final seconds of the match to offer his selection a 5th victory in these qualifiers.

Vahid’s men signed a performance below what they have been used to in their previous games, being surprised by the combative Sudan team.
The Atlas Lions will have the opportunity to end their qualifying campaign in style, with a last meeting scheduled for November 16 in Casablanca against Guinea Conakry. An opportunity to consolidate their unbeaten streak and thus be able to earn points for the next FIFA ranking. The national team is now in 29th place in the world, overtaking Algeria.
As a reminder, Morocco is already qualified for the African play-offs of the 2022 World Cup, thus becoming the 2nd African nation to approach world competition after Senegal.
