Morocco condemns ‘targeting of civilians by any party involved’

Morocco on Saturday voiced its profound apprehension regarding the worsening situation and the emergence of military hostilities in the Gaza Strip. The Moroccan government strongly condemns the targeting of civilians by any party involved.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad released a statement, emphasizing Morocco’s longstanding warnings about the adverse effects of the political deadlock on regional peace.

Morocco is deeply concerned about the escalating tensions and calls for an immediate cessation of all violent actions. The kingdom urges a return to calm and implores all parties to refrain from any actions that may further destabilize the region and jeopardize the prospects for peace.

The statement also highlighted Morocco’s role as the chair of the Al-Quds Committee and reaffirmed its commitment to a peaceful resolution. Morocco underlines that dialogue and negotiations remain the sole viable approach for achieving a comprehensive and enduring solution to the Palestinian issue. This solution should be based on international legitimacy resolutions and the internationally accepted principle of a two-state solution. His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco champions this approach.
