Morocco condemns recent Israeli attacks against Al-Aqsa mosque

The Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Morocco’s condemnation of the repeated incursions by extremists into the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, a source told MoroccoLatestNews.

On Sunday, Israeli forces implemented strict security measures on worshippers in Al-Aqsa, forcibly removing them and denying access to any Palestinian below the age of 50, a move reportedly aimed at facilitating the passage of Israeli settlers for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.

This escalation in tensions adds to the ongoing challenges in the region surrounding one of the holiest sites for both Muslims and Jews.
Morocco, led by King Mohammed VI, who chairs the Jerusalem Committee, considers these escalating actions as fueling tensions and undermining efforts for calm in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The source emphasized Morocco’s call for the cessation of unilateral measures and escalations in Palestinian territories and the preservation of the legal and historical status of Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Morocco reaffirms that dialogue and negotiations are the only path towards a comprehensive and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue, in accordance with international legitimacy and the internationally agreed-upon two-state solution.
