
Morocco won against Brazil on Saturday evening, 2 goals to 1, during a friendly match, very followed by football lovers. The Atlas Lions offer themselves a historic victory which confirms that their journey in the World Cup was not the result of chance.
The World Cup semi-finalists faced the Seleção for this expected match but failed to beat Walid Regragui’s men.
The Atlas Lions opened the scoring in the 29th minute thanks to a goal from Sofiane Boufal on a pass from Bilal Khannous, the first Moroccan player to score against Brazil. It is also the first Arab country to beat the Seleção.
During this match, the first of the Moroccan selection at home since the appointment of Walid Regragui as national coach, the victory was not only historic but highly symbolic since it is the first to return from the World Cup.
At the end of an intense match in the second period of play, the Brazilian selection scored its only goal of the match thanks to Casemiro in the 67th minute of play. Regragui’s men, who were playing in the middle of Ramadan, scored a second goal in the 79th minute signed Abdelhamid Sabiri.
